Rolex Crown Dots or Bar

Dear All,

I have just purchased a Rolex GMT 11 2004/5 version from a reputable dealer. I have read that the crown should have 3 dots at the bottom and mine has a bar, should I be worried or is this normal.

Regards

Charles Wilson

My "V" has dots... I have noticed that GMTs for sale in the TRF classified have a bar. I would not be worried.

A 2004 GMT would be the 16710 which would have the twinlock crown, hence the bar.

A V serial GMT would be the 116710 II-C which came with the triplock crown and would have the 3 dots.

Hope this helps.

The new GMT IIc has a trip-lock crown and hence three dots I believe, so that's probably what you've read. Old version has a twinlock crown, as people have already answered.
