Thin Cases of the DRSD
I have been doing some reading about the old PPDRSD's and have found out they have thinner cases. What does this mean? Are they talking about it's overall thickness or just the thickness of the metal? Is it possible for a regular production DRSD (lets say a Mark III) to have a thin case? Not much info out there on this subject, any help would be appreciated.

No luck yet on the sale, but times are tough right now. I have already gone lower than I told myself I would go. It might be time to wear it myself. |

Drsd cases
Single red dwellers, patent pending and a lot of the mk2 production run are thin cases ... Pretty much what it says on the tin , thinner profile like a sub.
I'm travelling but when home I think I've got a side by side shot I can dig out for you dads |

Thanks Jed, I would appreciate that. Sometimes when I look at my watch, I wonder if it doesn't have a "thin" case.

ok so the subject of thin cases is a bit of a minefield , especially to deal with over the net as it is kinda hard to show... when you have one of each in hand its apparent from most angles and the heft. The reality is that there isn't a premium for thin cases per se, because at the end of the day it can be a fine line between an over polished fat case and a full thin case...
heres some of the scans i've put away from jerrel/ eric who tried to highlight it. |

Vintage Rolex can be very confusing. Especially if one had poor sight.

Thanks for the pictures and the posts. I will stare at them a while longer to see if I can come up with some pattern to look for.

Awesome, Jed!
The difference in thickness seems most apparent at the crown guards.
