First Post, First Rolex
Hey all,
Name's Gary from NYC. Thanks for hosting such an informative forum. I actually don't have the watch yet, nor do I know what model it is, but I know it's there. My fiance had agreed to buy me a watch as a wedding gift (getting married in Nov.) and my eyes have always been set on a Submariner. I know it's either the LV or all black, well, it better be. She came by my office today (she's never in the Financial District), and I knew why she'd be sneaking around. However, she's set on not giving it to me until the wedding date which is killing me. I've been adamant not to wear a watch (unless doing sports) if it weren't a Rolex so I'm pretty excited about finally getting it--screw the wedding. A little more about myself: I enjoy playing tennis, running, biking, swimming and Arsenal football. I just completed my first (sprint) triathlon this past weekend and am looking forward to doing many more. Thanks for listening!!! |

Welcome to TRF, Gary. Hope you enjoy your stay here.
Good luck with the watch. The Sub is an excellent choice - you won't have any regrets, that's a guarantee!! Cheers - JJ

Welcome Gary. Nov is a long time for us to wait to see what you go. Guess you'll have to revist this post after your wedding gift is received and your honeymoon. A ring and a watch... both circles and the symbol of your unending love... or so the ring vows sort of go. Congrats and regards,

Thank you all for the well wishes. I've just been browsing the forums a bit during some downtime here at work. Lots of great members with loads of info on this forum. I also don't think that it's helping...the anticipation is killing me. I'm pretty sure I'm looking forward to the date so I can finally have it on my wrist.
rolexploer: Great news to hear that Fab is coming back this season. I really do hope it is a Sub. If not, then I might just not show for the ceremony |

Thomas, that cover is great. Gotta love a NYer's mentality.
Funny also, I live between 10th and 11th Ave. |

Thanks Gary.. I love that cover. Used to have the poster framed and on the wall, but my X got it...Bummer!!
. Oddly enough, I lived on the SW corner of 9th and 34th -right next to the Church - as my last 'stop' west, ...before I moved up here. Who wouldve thought that, then!! Ya just never know what life throws at you...!

The cover is now the wallpaper on my phone. HAHA
So, I don't know if this is a good idea or not, but I've been talking to my fiance and she said that she would agree to pick up the watch, but I would have to swear on our dog's life that I would not wear it. She has all the paperwork for the watch, it's just being held in the safe at the AD. What do you guys think? I know I'm just going to be drooling over the watch and not want to leave home. |

Drunk post.
It's a 16610V. I'm an asshole so don't ask how I found out. So happy the bezel's green. I hope I have happy drunk dreams. TIA. |
