does it make sense to replace a 16610 with a red sub?
the 16610 is the first rolex that i got but lately i've been awe struck with the thought of a vintage red sub w/superdome! however, I am uncertain if i should keep both the red sub and the 16610. to me, you can only wear one watch at a time...should i just keep the 16610 in the closet or sell it.
Also, do you prefer a 1680 red sub or a 1665 DRSD, if price is not an factor? Sorry for so many questions. :. C |

I have been looking at a lot of vintage Subs (and Tudors) too.
I thought for a quick second to sell my 16610, but I just can't. I will just have to save for the vintage. I know how you feel looking at all those great plexi vintage Red Subs! Love them too.

Keep the 16610 for daily wear, and buy a Red sub for weekends and evenings out on the town.

I cant speak for everyone but just like buying my first property it has sentimental value to me and a place i will never get rid of.
Just like youre first rolex, something you should treasure and if you can- keep hold of it to pass down to the little ones. |

Also, I prefer a straight matte 1665 SD over a Red Sub, but that is just me! :-) |

As for the 1665 question, I would choose a great white over a red sub. But it's gonna be close.

Save up for the Red Sub and keep the 16610....you'll regret selling if you do!

Not sure I would wear a Red Sub for an evening on the town...unless it was a night out with the guys. Would prefer something a tad more dressy - DJ Perhaps?

I wear my red 1680 daily. It replaced one of my matte 16660s, which had replaced my 1655, which replaced my 16623. Unless the red 1680 you're planning to get is a pristine "time capsule" example, or your daily activities involve a lot of rugged outdoor or underwater activity, I say wear it and wear it often. These are wearable pieces of art!!

Get both! And I personally prefer the DRSD over the Red Sub if price is not a factor.
Good luck! |
