I doubt this is true Rolex might as well stop production entirely with all the fakes out there of Daytona's, DeepSea's, and everything else.

Probably not. But a hearsay post on the internet isn't the same thing.

Here is how salesmen work:

They see you looking, holding, asking, about a watch. Suddenly, there is an urgent pressing reason why YOU MUST BUY IT RIGHT NOW or else...

So, here we have a brand new hyped up ceramic sub (their flagship sport watch) naturally, YOU MUST BE MADE TO BUY IT RIGHT NOW.

I've heard everything:

Last one in stock, we don't know when the next ones are coming...
I have one in the back on hold for a customer, but if you want it RIGHT NOW, I can get it for you...
Rolex is only going to make so many of these...
and so on......

So, if you think they're going to stop making them soon, you better take out a 2nd mortgage and buy a dozen or so because it'll be SUCH A GREAT INVESTMENT!!!

Why?

He just bought their last Tudor Heritage and they didn't have a 116610 in stock.

Hoping he'd be put on a 'waiting list' for one...then he'd source it...makes the AD look like a hero and the customer feel like he was 'treated' to something special.

Come on, there are dozens of such tricks.

If Rolex quit making watches every time a fake was produced, I think all Subs, DJ's, and DD's would be out of production. Maybe even the YM's too!
