Good one!

Congratulations on a fine purchase Mike. It is worth haggling with the AD. The RED/BLACK bezel really sets the watch off.

I see from your very good photos that you have a time difference. The GMT is on 1400hrs and your hour hand is 11.

+3 hr time difference or -9 the other way.

I guess that the time you have is TX time, so what is the red hand on GMT on?[/COLOR]

Congrats!! I just left the metroplex for Austin but make it up there from time to time. If you need any AD's in the future, I have more than one nice discount hookup there in town.

Welcome to TRF and congrats again!

Well, for sure this watch reminds me of something....oh wait I just remembered, it's exactly like mine
Mike excellent choice, enjoy your watch !!! As for the bezels the "pepsi" should be allright for the summer and the holidays and the black will make the watch a little bit more formal. But the black/red is the best combo....

Funny that you ask. The time is set for TX time but the GMT is set at whatever time the AD set it at. I haven't adjust it yet. I've been reading all the manuals and searching online on how to set everything.

Now I just need to know what time I want it set at - decisions-decisions-decisions.

PS - I also love the black/red bezel - it stands out but not to busy since the dial is also black.

Way to go, Mike... nice watch!

If I can make a suggestion... I keep Manila tine on my 24 hr hand (because my parents are there as well as my kid brother) so we frequently communicate back and forth. I've also read that our resident flyers keep theirs on Greenwich Mean Time as they reference it often when on duty.

However, there's nothing wrong with having them synchronized (meaning both displaying local time) leaving you free to adjust the hour hand if/when you travel and change time zones the 24 hr remains on your home time.

Once again, congrats on the new GMT Master! Wear it in good health.

I just bought a Brand New GMT-Master II from my AD. (16710 / Z-series).

They had it listed at $5,075.00 (Due to the 10% increase last Oct).

I went in and gave him my Best Offer:

$4,300.00 + Tax = $4,654.75

Or $4,500.00 Out the Door.

The sales guy called his brother the Owner (Whom I have spoken before back in September who offered me the SS Yacht Master for $7,065.00 + Tax (10% discount from the $7,850.00 price at that time - It's now listed at $8,325.00)

He counter offered me with a price of $4,500 + Tax = $4,871.25

A difference of $216.50 (4871.25 - 4654.75)

We talked for another few minutes and I could see that he would not budge. So I made my move and said "NO DEAL" and started to leave hoping he would say "WAIT - COME BACK" but he didn't say a word.

I sat in my BMW 330i parked in front of the glass door pretending to talk on the phone for about 3 minutes and then drove off.

When I got home - I emailed him my final offer:

$4,400.00 + Tax = $4763.00 (Met in the middle) (Also comes with a FULL 2-Year Warranty)

22 minutes later I received a phone call asking me to stop by the store. Long Story Short - I now have a BRAND NEW GMT-MASTER II ROLEX (w/ the Black/Red Bezel).

FYI: I still have the pastic film on it - Can't wait to wear it to work monday - My Boss has the SS Submariner and our SVP has the SS Yacht Master.

Hope they don't think I'm getting paid too much - LOL.

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone here on this Forum - I read almost every thread before diving in and getting the GMT-MASTER II. I LOVE IT.

I will take pictures later tonight but everyone know's what it looks like.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I have the same watch myself D serial red and black I think it a great watch second to SD...enjoy it and wear it in good health...
