233 or 292J?
An opportunity presented itself...
A 233 or spend a little more for a 292J Pig dial? I may have to lose 1 of my Rolexes... Or should I just wait a year or less and keep my trifecta of Rolexes and pick either Pam up at a later date?

I'd vote 292, not pig, but hey, that's me. I'm not caught up in the collectability.

I'd wait it out. Keep your Rolex collection in tact.

The movement in the 233 is way more complicated ( better?) than that in the 292.

Joey...it is a good time to buy...and the 233 pricing has really soften...so much so that I am tempted to work a trade of my 312 for a 233...
but..the piggy..ahh..the piggy.. great looking watch and very collectable...but..its too far gone in pricing to justify.. keep all your pieces and wait bud...i don't see pricing firming... unless its a CRAZY good deal...

keep the rolex, and get a 292 later.
pig or no pig if your call. but i rather have a less complicated movement and knowing that minor issue (out of warranty) can be fixed by any decent watch maker. btw, no need to polish the case is a major plus :D |

233 for me. I've also considerd what Phil mentioned- getting a 233 for my 312. There are just so many things I love about the 312 though...

Don't do anything and hold your Rolex watches unless you've got a deal on a 233 that you can't refuse.

As always, the crew does have good points. Thanks fellas. I think I'm in a good place with my trifecta, I don't think anything rash needs to be done unless the deal is waaaay too good to pass up.

Predictably, I voted for the 292.
![]() However, I would rather wait for a pigless 292 if it meant not having to break the Rolex trifecta. ![]() Good luck, bro. ![]()

I loved the 312 but had to flip for the 233. BEST DECISION I EVER MADE. Trust me.

Really? Go pigless and keep the trifecta?

Absolutely!
![]() IMHO I don't think the price difference justifies the logo. And if keeping the trifecta means having to forgo the "collectibility" of the pig, then so be it. Tough decision, Joey. Good luck! ![]()

Jib... You are wise, good sir. But in 15 years... Will I be kicking myself?

I'd go for the 233, or 292 no pig.. But that comes back down to what you'd like to use daily... I don't find myself wanting to use the 292 daily.

![]() It's a tough call, but I would have a tough time breaking up a trio like yours. ![]() FWIW, if you are hedging your bet on collectibility, I would think you have done a great job in getting a GV and Daytona. ![]()
