Bought My First Rolex-- A SeaDweller--Few Questions

I just got an 05 SeaDweller and I have a few questions. I noticed that the bezel isnt EXACTLY straight when compared to the 12-oclock triangle. i can twist it halfway to the next click to make it straight, but when it actually clicks it will be either slightly before or slightly after the triangle. I'm wondering if I send it to the service center if this is something they can actually fix. its really minor but its bothering me a bit. also i need the bracelet and a small spot on the case to be buffed already. i crashed my mountain bike pretty bad (requiring helicopter to hospital) last week and the watch took some damage. (dont think ill be wearing it biking again) will rolex fix this for free under waranty?
one final thing bothering me about the watch is the lume. frankly i think it sucks. i had an omega 2254.50 and that thing would glow like an atom bomb and last for a very long time. long like i could charge it before goign to bed and then still see it at 5am. the seadweller doesnt glow as brightly--which i understand because the lume is on less surface area than the sword hands of the omega--but what i dont understand is why it lasts only about 10 minutes. its really dissapointing. is this because the crystal of the seadweller is so thick? is it not like this on the sub? did i get a bum watch or is this normal? thanks for the help.

Take it back to the dealer and have the bezel realigned.

Have the bracelet polished. If dammaged more, perhaps a new bracelet.Thats for your account.

Lume, thats the way it is ... Does not bother me.

Hi Chris,

There's nothing wrong with the bezel, the insert is slightly off. It's an easy fix but if you've never done it--don't try!
Your AD should be able to realign it easily. I would imagine your AD could also buff your case. (More importantly you're ok! )

As for the lume,..yeah, Rolex lume, while serviceable, doesn't compare to other brands like Omega, Seiko, etc....
Certainly surface area is a factor (go maxi-dial! ) but Rolex chooses to mix their luminova to have that bright white look as opposed to the slightly greenish hue found on Omega and some others.
That seems to have an affect on the luminosity.

Yeah, the Lum on my old SMP was really bright! Lasted all night long and very easy to see. Took some adjusting to get use to the Lum on my First rolex, the Sub No date. But after awhile, and especially after being out in the sun, found that the lume was OK. Had to look pretty close to see the minute hand at say 5 am, after a full night of sleep. But after having worn the Rolex Sub for the first month, and then going back to the Omega SMP, found that the SMP seemed too bright! I think the lum on Rolex watches is an aquired taste, but works and gets the job done. The hands on my IWC Spitfire UTC glow all night long really bright. Takes a little guess work as the only hour marker showing after a while is at 12 oclock. (The 3, 6, 9 markers are kind of small). I think for some reason the Lum on the White Face Exp II is the best.
