Rolex Auction
Hey Guys,
I just arrive from a Rolex Auction here in São Paulo/Brazil, unfortunately I wasn't able to buy anything... I almost got a Sea Dweller BNIB for USD 6800 but I was outbid. I wasn't very agressive since I just bought a Pepsi GMT-II from DavidSW this morning. ;-) What I found impressive (prices in USD): 1965 / ref.6239 Daytona Paul Newman - bought for $62600 1971 / ref.1680 Submariner Red - bought for $13800 1972 / ref.1655 Explorer II Straight Hand Steve McQueen - bought for $13800 I came out empty handed but at least I had some champagne and salmon for free ;-) What are your thoughts on the auction prices? Cheers, Walter |

Prices don't seem interesting, IMO way to high plus the premium at "check-out". Ay caramba!!!

With no details re: condition of the pieces, whether box and papers were part of the lot, provenance, etc., it's really difficult to ascertain if those prices were good, bad or indifferent.
