Are Non SEL Submariners watches more or less comfortable than SEL watches.I want to buy an older Bluesy and wonder if I should stay away from non SEL watches

Some contend that the hollow end links "rattle" and feel less secure. I don't have first hand experience, but I LOVE the solid feel of my Series Y Sub and other SEL Rolex's.

I know you want to see if you can deal with the Non SELs. Guess you will just have to try one on.

Non SEL bracelets use to worn out the serial number from the case if the bracelet is a little bit loose. Check the timepiece before closing the deal.

I would say the non SEL feels a little lighter in comparison.
Otherwise both have the same comfort to me anyway....

I've had both. Can't say I noticed any difference.

I have both. My non SEL is 22 years old and has been well used. It does rattle but does not feel weak at all. My SEL LV feels more solid but that could be in part because it's a lot newer.

If forced to choose the better design, I would choose the SEL. But if the Sub you want is in your price range and/or is in good condition...I say don't let the non SEL deter you.

However, if the band is beaten up good...I believe a replacement is north of $2,000.

I agree with Allan.. The condition of the watch and bracelet overall is more imprtant than SEL or non-SEL; you probably won't notice any differenc in comfort when worn.

Because the center links are gold, they are more prone to actually deform and crack long before the end-link will show any issues..
