Ok so the 10, 9 (presumably soon to be 8) etc...

just wondering if anyone knows when the number changes...

I presume rather than changing at Midnight either in CET or the country of your PC it changes at 9am (or thereabouts) to coincide with the time the show opens... (cause it's still showing 9 here.. at 00:54 GMT / 01.54 CET)

Thoughts?

I would imagine it changes shortly after the Webmaster clocks in for the day.
