i was told that rolex makes a pvd daytona just yesterday i a shop on AVE of the AMERICAS clse to 50th st in NYC. I know i have not been on the board for a week or so but folks....tell me this is bogus as well. I almost fainted but then i said HELL NO THEY DONT. he said yes they do so i said im not buying anything in here because you dont know what the hell you are talking about. Please tell me that there have been no new developments in the last week!!!

It's funny, when I ran a retail shop I use to tell my people not to BS if they dont know because the person tey are dealing with might be testing them. I think more store managers or owners need to get that out to their people to avoid some of these stupid thins that we have shared

Years ago I walked in to my local AD regarding replacement of the Tritium pearl on the bezel of my 1680 which I knocked off accidentally. The store was manned unfortunately at that moment by the dealer's daughter who noticed the bad scratches on the acrylic glass (i did not pamper my watch then as I now). She suggested that I keep the watch in the dark (she mentioned that a drawer would be fine for this purpose) in order to encourage the glass to heal (!!) When I asked why (trying to keep a straight face) she said that the glass is made from organic plant material and this is why scratches disappear after time....!

Before leaving (hastily) I asked if until I speak to her daddy I should also water it to encourage the healing process...She didn't get it and replied that as long as I wear it in the sea it should be fine....

I was talking to a friend of my father, about 55 years old, very self-sufficient, and started to talk about watches.. I told him that I loved mechanical watches.. He replied me that he loved them too ! Great I thought..

But .. He immediatly showed me his watch, and told me that he was collecting all the "quantième" watches, bought at "e-leclerc" ... ( a french wallmart ) ... = The poorest chinese quartz watches.. 60 dollars each

Recently, a salesman at an AD claimed that Omega movements are more accurate and reliable than Rolex. He tried to talk me into trading in my 16610 for a Speedy.

I had same comment from the Highline Times, that Omega keep better time. I think they speak from their experience, and may be true.

Here is another one: I walked into a Rolex dealer in the Fashio Destrict in Chandler, AZ. I said: "I always wanted a DayDate, but I don't like yellow gold, they are way to flashy and too much a give away, I like white gold, but I worry I may be allergic to nickle in the white gold." He said:" white gold is gold mixed with pure platinum", and he is very sure of it.
