Quality control ROLEX!!!!!! GRRRR!
I only picked up my 116710 yesterday and didn't notice till I got home that the bezal triangle doesn't line up with the 12 marker, is this normal?? I can't post pics ATM I'm at work but it appears to be off to the left by a few mm, but it is noticeable, it also means none of the numbers around the bezal line up either, now that can't be normal can it? When you spend 10kaud on a watch you think something as simple as the bezal would line up yeah? Or am I just paranoid? From watch reading distance ie 15cm it's not too noticeable. But if you look any closer it is, should
I send the watch back under warranty? Or live with it for a while? Thanks for any and all info Mitch |

I recently went through a similar issue when I received a white Explorer 2 as a gift from my Fiance. There was two small specks of debris under the dial. Like you I debated just living with it but eventually I took it back to the AD. They are fixing it in house as they have a rolex trained watch maker on premisis. My thought is send it back to be repaired or return it altogether. I would guess your dealer could straighten up the dial in a week or so if they have a watch maker on staff. |

My Sea-Dweller lines up nicely but my GMT is off a bit. I try to not let it bother me the GMT is 15 years old! If I had a new one I would take it back and exchange it for one more to my liking.

I had rhe same issue. The guys at RSC fixed it for me in less than five minutes... You can do it yourself... There are many videos in youtube that explain how to change the bezel insert. But since it's brand new loke mine I recommend you to return it or to go to a RSC.
Cheers Walter

My SD was off a bit. Granted they have very different bezel types, but it bothered me enough to have a watchmaker remove the bezel and re-align it.
It didn't take 10 minutes. Good luck, and congratulations!

I would send it back.....since it is brand new, it should be "perfect" to your satisfaction. Accept nothing less since it bugs you.
Enjoy your watch |

Take it back. Have it fixed. It's a brand new watch, it's a Rolex, it wasn't inexpensive...have the AD/RSC make it right.

Looks negligible to me, Mitch.
But if it bothers you, I would give the AD a chance to rectify the blemish.

More often than not, the issue is not the bezel...but rather the dial that has not been set correctly in the case. Take a look at the Rolex emblem engraved in the rehaux at 12 o'clock. Now look at the 12 o'clock marker on the dial and see if the dash at 12 o'clock on the dial is dead center with the rolex emblem on the rehaux. I'd be willing to bet it does not...I've seen a number of GMT's with this exact issue. I'm sure you can adjust the bezel, but then both the dial and bezel are both slightly off. Only way to correctly fix the problem is resetting the dial in the case.
Either way, it's a poor QC issue that shouldn't happen on a $7k watch. |

Mine is not aligned but I'm okay with it. If you are unhappy with it then take it back. It's a very easy fix. Best of luck and keep us posted.

?? Mitch, it looks completely perfect to me. If you really believe there is a problem
I would check to see if there is a tiny amount of 'lash' in the bezel. That is, click it to the center spot and then slightly twist it in the opposite direction from its misalignment. That will take up any slack in the click-stop and likely align it exactly.

Hey Cameron, you're dead right! My rehaut crown is just off the 12 position, and so is the bezel, and if I look carefully, so is the cyclops!!! If the dial was turned anti-clockwise by a very small amount, all 3 would line-up! How obvious now that you mention it. Mine not so bad I will worry about, but definately something I'll mention when it gets its first service in a few years Thanks buddy, always learn something on TRF

The 12 dial marker is offset slightly to the left but the magnification is high so that would not be seen by the naked eye. Rotating the dial will not centre the marker.
The bezel marker position is a function of where the insert has been positioned in the bezel holder and/or where the ratchet spring locates in the grooves under the bezel. The insert position can be adjusted if it really bothers you but I have seen a lot worse. I would not open a Rolex to fix this problem but I would mention it to the AD now and have then take a note to fix it at the first service. Nice choice of Rolex - enjoy wearing it mate.

Have to agree but it could be the dial it self, but I am sure a blind man would like to see it.If its the bezel afraid thats back to the RSC as no AD will adjust the ceramic insert at the moment. So much for so called progress,if is was the aluminium insert a 5 minute job.

annoying little flaws!!
YES, this is the kind of thing that drives me mad. I once had 3 specs of dust under the crystal on my tt sub. All I saw when I looked at the watch were the 3 specs. Eventually I left it in and got the crystal changed as the repairer said that the marks were in the glass!!. Having spent a decent sum of cash on a watch you would expect that the basics were right. If the small details are not as they should be send it straight back. After-all, if we only needed a watch to tell the time we wouldnt need our beloved Rolexs, a five euro watch can do that!!
