How many of you are anal about the outside notches of the bezel lining up exactly with the numbers on the bezel on a sub? Can this be easily corrected by an AD? I saw someone in another forum ragging on the new Rolex Basel countdown where these don't match up.

That countdown is just that...a countdown, I wouldn't read to much into that.
Yeah, it would bug me a little, just seems to throw the "balance" of the watch off. It's my understanding a slight varience is acceptable to Rolex QC. (Help Ironshark!) I believe this is something that can happen because of the 120 clicks on the bezel. It can easily be re-alligned by a watch tech.

I don't even think about details like that. Just enjoy a great watch that isn't made by a computer and looks picture perfect !!

I really dont care very much. The bezels on the sports watches are meant to be moved, thats why they are there. Sub's, GMT's, SD's.....

The bezel on my GMT is rarely lined up because I use it for what it is suppose to be used for, multiple time zones. My SD, I will use for timing other things, parking meters for example.

These watches are more than fashion watches, use them for what they were designed for and enjoy them.

Everyone misunderstood the thread....I'm not talking about lining up the numbers on the bezel to the numbers on the dial. I'm talking about lining up the grooves on the edge of the bezel with the numbers on the bezel. See the Rolex countdown to see the mis-alignment. My bezel numbers are dead on to the dial numbers.....Can you adjust the grooves with the bezel numbers? Does this make sense?

Any watchmaker can remove the bezel insert and realign it with the bezel serrations. The ratchet spring will probably have to be modified afterwards to align the bezel insert with the minute marks on the dial.

thats becuase the insert has been removed at some point and replaced out off line
