FS: Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch 3570.50

For sale is my Omega Speedmaster 3570.50.

I bought my first Speedy in September last year when on holiday, from DM Robinson an AD in Manchester. Sadly that initial purchase was a wrong un. It had a dented bezel and sped up on a full wind by 20+ seconds within 3 minutes of the wind! I sent it back. 5 whole months later I had not received the original watch back and so demanded and received a brand new replacement Speedy in February 2010. This is the one up for sale now.

This one is just back from Omega. It required regulation as it was gaining +24 seconds a day, at double the official spec. This was sent back to Omega under warranty at the end of May 2010 and I collected it from my Edinburgh AD two days ago.

So let's recap. I bought a Speedy in September last year and for 8 out of those 12 months I've had one or other of them back at Omega. Shall we just say that I've not had the best introduction to the brand. I've lost faith with Omega and will stick to my Sub and G-Shocks for the foreseeable future, hence the sale.

The Speedy has a full Omega warranty dated from the 2nd Feb 2010 and so has 18 months remaining. It was worn for a couple of weeks before being placed in the safe, once I realised I would have to send it back for the warranty regulation. It therefore has very light signs of use – some desk marks on the buckle and minor marks from a strap change. The crystal is flawless. There are no dings.

When I collected it, the AD put it on their timing machine to check Omega's work. They reported that face up it was +6 seconds and on its side with the pushers upper-most it was +8 seconds. So thankfully it is now well within spec. The chronograph is working perfectly and the second hand returns to 12, as it should.

It comes with all the original Omega boxes, instruction manuals hang tag and warranty cards. The watch came with the additional bracelet link fitted. I will also include the original sales receipt from DM Robinson and the receipt from the warranty regulation. Also included at no additional charge are some Hirsch leather straps, a few strap pins and a tube of polywatch. You're getting the complete Speedy kit.

My asking price is £1,700 ONO including RMSD. RRP is £2,315. I'm happy to courier through UPS for shared costs. UK sale only and Paypal gift is preferred payment option. If you can get to Edinburgh, a cash and collection transaction is possible. No trades please.

This is my first sale on TRF but please check out my feedback at TZ-UK and on eBay as dkpw2140.

Someone is going to get what amounts to a 3 week old Moonwatch plus extras for a lot less than the usual discount one could expect on an Omega.

Please PM with any questions.
