DSSD on TRF...

OK, a bit of a heads up here on TRF...

This DSSD's ring looks on some of the pics to have a engraved ring lock system ring. Should be printed.

Look at the pics in the ad and the ones on his link to a picture gallery...

I'm not 100% sure, but looks strange to me?

Definately looks engraved (not printed) by the reflection on the inner ring

Not sure what to make of it; hopefully some of the DSSD experts will look it over.

Just looked on my own Deepsea, and it looks nothing like that. How ever I turned the watch around under a bright light, I couldn't get the printed text to look anything like the one above... I'm guessing it's actually engraved and thus, fake.

Ring looks off from what I've seen. I don't have a DSSD but doesnt the coronet on the dial look off?? I'm looking at my millie right now, and the points of the crown aren't at such a steep angle, they're in a flatter line.
also the 0 in the date's 30 looks poorly printed.

I see what you guys are saying, but in his photo gallery there are many shots at a steep angle and there is ZERO distortion through the crystal. All the fakes shown so fare have pretty bad edge distortion through the domed crystal.

I hope we do not have a new generation of fake DSSD around.

Sad thing is, the fakes always keep getting better and better. Hell, they all but mastered the 16610.

Eddie, if this is a fake, it's definitely a "new edition" of DSSD fakes...

The chinese text on one of the instruction manuals, does that look legit?

The minute lines in the bezel are IMO too thick. Looks much thinner on my watch, especially the ones from 0 - 15min.

When comparing this to my AD bought DSSD, I'm seeing small, but present details that is wrong with it.

Hi Folks,

The picture looks awfully familiar... I believe it is mine. Chinese characters on the booklet..etc..

It was purchased at Shilla 5 star hotel Duty-Free in Asia... Experts, please verify. If more pics are needed let me know. Plus, I found a listing on ebay who is using my photos. That is not me.(I do not use EBAY for SALES).

I just want to clear things up in the open.

Photos were taken using a Canon 7D with 100mm macro.

I would truly appreciate your expertise in advance to clear up on this DSSD.

Scott

Folks, I've taken more photos with my 7D of the DSSD concerned. Under certain conditions, with the flash on, it looks like it is engraved for sure. But without flash, it looks fine printed... I've taken photos of the instruction booklet which is in Japanese. It is given out to all models of Rolexes so it is not DSSD specific (this booklet).

Guys, I am more than confident that this is legit. I have never heard of Shilla Hotel performing such mal-practices (hard to imagine). I understand I am new here, and thus, standing here without much credibility. I hate to be doubted against my DSSD that is totally genuine.... But I do understand that for the safety of TRF and acts against fakes, I will do my best here to blast any doubts away, and I will be open to your claims or inputs.

Thanks in advance,
Scott

Impressive fake if it is one . Pictures are pictures and can distort the image by changing light and angles .
What personally bothers me is the warranty card :
We see in a picture the card wrapped in a blister , which I have never seen with originals .
But it is also on the same back ground unwrapped with the date ? Surely they do not come date stamped from the factory .. so the date would have been put on during the photo session ?

Sorry for the edit : needed to figure out how to upload att.

After you posted more images, it does look OK to me as well. Sorry for the trouble. The "engraved" look set My alarmbells off. With a strong LED light I was able to get the same effect you had. Seems like the text is à bit engraved on originals too!
