Datejust or d/j t.o.g.
Hi folks, I am in the market for either a new style D/J 116234 or a T.O.G. 116264 for under $4000. Which one is a better choice in case I will be upgrade to other models in the future.:

Well with Rolex watches today the only upgrade is the case style the price and whether TT or precious metal and diamonds. As most models except the chronographs share the same movement based on the cal 3135 with or without added complications.Myself prefer the TOG over the DJ simply because there are less TOGs around, and I prefer that type of bezel.

You'll probably get a great deal on a TOG, as they are notoriously difficult to sell, but second hand value will not be so great. A 116234 will be more saleable further down the line, should you want to upgrade - I also prefer the dressy look of that model, especially on Jubilee. Specifying a baton dial as well will probably be your best bet
Hope this helps Chris |

Both awesome, I think I would probably take the DJ.

I'd go DJ - just a bit more classic and nicer looking imho.

DJ for me too. If I wanted a bezel which looks like the one on the TOG, I would instead get one of Rolex's sports models.
