Any one got any views on this or has anyone been where I am now?
Just cannot for the life of me think why not, if you like and want a TT watch just go and buy it.Why even think of like you say wrong image, you yourself as a person thats all that counts not some sort of perceived image. So just buy it and wear and enjoy it for the next 30 odd years in good health, now thats far more important than any so called image I can assure you.

Hey Janc,

Good to see a fellow Liverpudlian. I have just picked up a 16610LV, but really like the look of the bi-colour 16613 with black bezel. I have seen a BNIB 16613 for £4995 and am tempted to be honest.

Most of the guys in work disagree with the idea of a gold Rolex for some reason, but I think it is stunning.

Go for it I say.

I have had several Rolex watches GMTs, Sub, SD but my beautiful TT Bluesy Sub is the only one Rolex in my collection now and I am very happy with it. It took some time to get used to the idea of a TT watch but to see my wife with her TT Yachtmaster in her wrist everyday and the idea to have an iconic and versatile Rolex Sub with Gold included was enough to make my mind. Besides, to look at my wrist and see that beautiful blue dial makes my day every morning. Go for it.

Bi Metal

I love Bi Metal Rollies.. looks stunning and attractive.. but the only drawback is the bad reselling value.. Used SS have better resell.

Understand your question janc. I´m kind in the same situation now. I have Exp2, vintage DJ and newly Sub ND for a month. BUT since I´m wearing the Sub I started looking at TT and wondering if it will be the end...
... and to be honest I don´t think it will stop with it, that is what I´m worry about and that is why I can´t buy them!

My ceramic Sub...my first TT. I personally think it has a warmth about it that the SS doesn't. If you like it then get it. Dont worry what the office folks think. I'm lucky where I work...there are a few WIS's and the rest are oblivious.

To me one of the attractions of TT Rolex watches is that they fit into virtually any situation.

Personally, I think it looks naff/grim, and the message it sends out is one of total desperation, like you really wanted the full gold model, but couldn't quite stretch to it. But if you like the TT look, well go for it.

Whether we like it or not image does mean something and in times of recession especially I would not wish to send out the wrong signals to those less fortunate than me -thats just me and I realise we are all entitled to our opinion.I am not into bling and obviously -paracentasis did not read my post or he would have realised that I am not interested in a gold model!
No Mr Paracentasis I am not desperate either.
I like the understated quality of the black tt sub but those lovely photos of the tt gmt ceramic have got me thinking about one of those too.
I am going to New York soon so my plan is to pick up a used one there-sub tt or gmt.
many thanks.

my 1st 2 rolexes were steel (sub ND and sub date).. so it was natural progression for me to upgrade to TT..

EVERYONE had blue!.. i did want blue aswell, but i dont like going with the crowd, for me it had to be black!!

..i couldnt find one in the UK.. i got this one from oscar/bodybump on the forum all the way from USA to scotland in 42hrs! (yes, 42hrs not 48!)..

i wont look back now, i love the black, it is so understated and more refined instead of the in-your-face blue.

a classic black 16613.. the most beautiful watch in the world. go see one in the flesh, tell me if you disagree!

A Rolex TT can easily be worn dressed up or down.
If you want something that can be worn with anything
, get the TT.

My husband's father gave him a TT black Submariner (the same as thesharkfactor has, just up above) as a gift a few years ago. It's not the watch that my husband would have purchased for himself (he would have just purchased a regular stainless steel Sub), but he loves it. It looks great with whatever he's wearing.

Don't worry about what other people think... buy what you like. Besides, Rolexes are comparatively less flashy than other watch brands. If someone is not a watch enthusiast, 99% will not even recognize that you are wearing a Rolex. Most people will assume the metals are not precious.
