Watch for Wife

After getting my Rolex, it seems only fitting that I get my wife one ! Only problem is it's not a huge priority for her. She would rather have a new bathroom remodel than a good watch and her current (and lesser brand watch) is adequate for her. (The BR remodel will actually cost orders of magnitude more than what I paid for my GMT :-).

At any rate - for after the remodel, I finally got her to try on a few models at a really wonderful Rolex dealer that we strolled upon in Carmel, CA on ocean ave.. btw, this shop is really amazing - they have a huge collection. If you ever go there, I highly recommend.

She -really likes- the ladies president style watches with the purple/pink floral patterns on the dial with the diamonds around the bezel. There were two models like this - on with a men's size bracelet and the other with a smaller size bracelet (and case from what I can remember).

Anyone have any info/feedback on these models ? I'm not ready to buy , but I am curious..

My wife has the small ladies YG DJ with president bracelet (the newer style president bracelet & champagne diamond dial). She loves it! If your wife is petite like mine, I say go with a smaller size. If she is tall perhaps she can pull off a man's watch. I'm not big on giant watches on men or women though, unless it is a sports watch (Daytona, SubC, etc...).

My wife is pretty tasteful as well; she went to both FIT and Parsons.

Fourtane is an incredible store...please tell me you went up the steps into the vintage area? If not, you have to next time. As far as the watch goes, don't force a Rolex on your wife...let her pick out the brand and model she likes. JMHO,
Scott

Get her the bathroom, it'll make it much easier to justify your next Rolex purchase.

Even after you got her a Rolex, I suspect she would still want to remodel the BR.

Funny, i'm in the same position,
I tried the floral pattern for my wife as well, she doesn' t like it......
She said, When " i want one, i want it eventually to be worn by our daughters, so it has to be more classic....." I partly agree with her on that..
Probably a DJ with Roman numerals......However I like the floral...

But to answer your question: which bracelet / case fits her best, for mine it would the small one.
Good luck!

I actually didn't go up to the vintage area. Well, now I have another reason to go to that shop on my next trip to Carmel.

i just donated a kitchen/bath remodel at a charity auction last night. It was hilarious to see so many women give their husbands "the elbow."

raised a ton of money.....now I have to do the work.
