No the lv Sub is perfect. In time you will miss it if you flip it.

I also think you'll regret flipping your old watches. If you've truly fallen out of love with your old watches then go for it, the Sub C is the perfect watch in my opinion, but it'll be around for many years to come. At the very least, maybe you could trade only one of your old watches for the Sub C, then you'll have a new style and old style case in your collection.

Good advice, if you go slow you may not need to flip after the price erodes somwhat. BUT, you should definitely take the plunge and go green!!

I would not trade or sell my LV to get the new Sub C. The old LV has an harmonic design, maxi dial and can get all black if you at some time want that. The LV bracelet is not as advanced as the new bracelet, but it has proven its value over time, and does its job..

Eric ..... why would you want to get rid of a watch as beautiful as the LV Sub?

The Green bezel on the LV will look dated soon.
The case and bracelet are not as full on hi-spec on the LV as they are on the new ceramic Sub.
You can only wear one watch at a time so why have a Sub LV and a GMT, you could just get the new SubC, that's all you need.
If you aint got a ceramic bezel then you just don't know how cool it is.
The SubC has the new parachrom hair spring which make the movement very accurate and less subject to being affected by external influences.

But if it was me, I'd keep the LV and GMT and give the SubC a miss.

Wow, thanks for all the replies! I am still on the fence about the Sub-C, but reading all these responses has been helpful. I rock my Sub LV with the black insert rather than green (I might wear the green a few days here and there), so I'm pretty close to having the look of the Sub-C with the maxi dial on my LV. I have a really small wrist, so have minor concerns about the wider lugs on the Sub-C.

I was about to make an impulse buy the other day from the forum, but decided I should wait until I see a Sub-C in the steel before potentially setting up a flip scenario.

One of my favorite things about the Rolex experience is the way the lugs gracefully taper into the bracelet. I don't think that really happens with the Sub-C.

Eric, I would definitely do it, buddy. The Sub-C is a fantastic watch. I can easily see it being my only watch if it ever came down to that. The maxi dial, ceramic bezel, chromalight and the glidelock just make this the whole package. You wouldn't regret the swap.

I wouldn't. But go with your gut. If you like the new Sub-C, then get it. Or save up a bit, and in a few years, grab a pre-owned.

If lugs is what you look at when looking at a watch, then the Sub C might not be for you.

I personally feel that when I look down at my watch, the beauty of the bezel and dial and AR cyclops render the wider lugs almost invisible to me, but of cos, I don mind the wider lugs at all. Makes it look more rugged and robust. Less of a puny feel to it. Not that I am saying the older subs are puny. but the Sub C just gives a more outstanding feel when side by side with the older sub. This coming from someone who had tried both on for size before getting a Sub C

Sometimes I wonder why people prefer to look at lugs instead of the watch that they paid thousands for

despite all the critics out there saying how the price would drop in the long run, etc. Let's face it. Its wishful thinking on their part (to the point of self deceit) to believe that a Brand New Sub C would go for less than 6k be it in the grey mkt or AD. Preown? maybe in a few years time assuming you are lucky.
