So, considering either a black dialed Daytona or Tudor Heritage. Anyone have both? Not a big fan of PCL's, just know I'll ding it up and get pissed.

Tough choice Chuck. Both beautiful watches. I'd lean more towards the Daytona though I'm a bit biased.

As much as I like the look of the Heritage I would always opt for the Daytona - the pricing of the two models is of course very different.

Pricing is, to say the least, quite different. Plus, I want a black dial, and much prefer the white Daytona.

Well I would pick the Daytona first. But I'd want both eventually.. They're both excellent watches!

I'd pick Daytona over the Heritage but I'd I'd also choose a vintage Tudor Chono over both.

Sounds like you should buy what you like... if you want the daytona get it in white, but if you want a black face chrono it sounds like it should be the Heritage

For what it's worth...

You could buy 2 Tudors to ding up for the Price of 1 Daytona to ding up...

If you are that concerned about scratching the PCL's maybe go with the less expensive alternative.

Unless you REALLY love the black Daytona, go for the Tudor.

Don't get me wrong, I'd go for the Daytona every time, but you've already said that you aren't crazy about the PCLs, and that you prefer the white Daytona.

I adore my white Daytona and the PCLs.

I have had a number of Daytonas over the years. I now have little interest in them, as my perception is that this watch is more decorative than my tastes accept. The scratch-magnet polished bezel, the polished links and case ditto, all serve to take this watch out of the category of daily-wearer for me. If it's not a tool watch why does it have the extra functions? Thus I much prefer my SD and Sub-C as less prone to visible damage. For dress wear with lots of polished surfaces the Milgauss black is ideal and just gets worn on formal occasions, much less subject to the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune.

For the price, for the size, for the function, for the knockabout-absorbing ability, if I were looking for a chronograph tool the Tudor Heritage is much more to my preference over the Daytona.

I totally agree with this but I would widen the scope just a bit. I went for a Tudor chrono - non-heritage. It has a jubilee bracelet which shows fewer scratches and the lower price makes me less sensitive to wear and tear.

Although I have a Daytona and an IWC Chronograph, I would still like a Tudor Chronograph someday.I would prefer an older model with the Black Bezel and White Dial. Possibly a Tiger.

go for a omega speedmaster, i think it goes along better with your current collection. you seem to like the icons, speedmaster is definitely an icon- the defending, reigning champion of outerspace... zero gravity... you'll spend roughly what you would on a Tudor chrono and about 1/3 what you would on a daytona... comes in black, on white lettering, solid, solid watch- storied history/heritage and versatile like your Rolexes. PCL is less defined on the speedmaster bracelet, which should make you happy.
