I've seen it called that on other forums. "dirty" refers to the light brown numbers, lettering, etc on the dial.

Panerai colored the indies to simulate patina. I think the 359 is an awesome reference and seems to be extremely popular.

It goes a bit against the traditional Panerai DNA. As an only Pam I might go for a more traditional look as in the 312, but the 359 is certainly a looker.

I've found that because of the patina brown straps as well as black accent the dial nicely.
