Has any one used/tried leather conditioner or softeners on their straps? Does it work? Did it ruin the leather?

I did read on a strap makers website that he recommended some leather conditioner.

I am considering giving it a shot on the OEM calf from the Zero as its stiff as you know what in the morning....

Anyone tried?

Might want to give Lexol a shot. Haven't ever used it on a leather watch band, but it works great on car interiors and other leather items.

You can count on it changing the color somewhat. So, do a little test spot in an inconspicuous area first and see if you're OK with the effect. Let it dry for a day or so before drawing any conclusions.

I have an OEM Croc Strap for my 104 that is now dull. I would like to replenish it. Would these leather products work on that strap? I'm trying to restore some luster.

I've not yet tried - as many of the brands listed above are not easy to come by in Hong Kong. Nonetheless, I have used neutral color leather conditioners before (on shoes) and on leather car interiors and they do tend to soften the leather. I don't think they were designed specifically to give it a polished look, but I guess if you buff it a little, you will probably get some shine onto it.

+1 on the Lexol suggestion, but it will most likely darken whatever you apply it on. I really like the stuff and use it quite a bit on my thicker straps.
