Thanks everyone for the extremely kind words. The price wasn't the motivator behind this, which is surprising when you think about a watch purchase. My golf coach had one on when I was 10, and that sparked me into wanting that same one 20 years later. I am not a fan of the cyclops, and like others said, I just don't need a date on my watch. I have a Panerai 176 as well, and I love the classic, simple styling. I would love to have a DSSD, but that is $7k+ for a watch that may get flipped because I think the disproportion in the head and the bracelet would drive me nuts. Either way, I am elated to finally have the one watch I have wanted since I was 10!

I am waiting for my first Rolex (end of the week). I, too, chose the No Date Sub for my first. Since mine is a 2010, mine has the "busy" COCS writing on the front.

Wow - you are right, ghetto - that might cause a stir... SCOC would probably look better.

Man, I really am new to this whole Rolex thing. My watch should be here by Friday. Can't wait.
