mouvement parts

There are lots of mouvements but watch producers are quite organised so my question :

In a watch mouvement what is the proportion of standard parts that can be found easily because employed in many mouvements ? By ETA for exemple .

For most calibre's there is a base model which different companies embellish with their own add ons in that case only the company may or may not supply those particular parts. Most movements have proprietary parts and are not exchangeable with other movements. There are however some books on parts exchangeability available mostly on older calibre models like bulova Hamilton and such. Hope that helps Rik

Thank you Rikki .

I am a bit surprised that wheels , axes etc are not a bit more standardised as all simple mouvements work the same .

What will happen to extremely expensive watches that have been made in limited editions ?
