Hello all, this is my second post, I'm the owner of a brand new GMT-II, a watch I've wanted for a long time, and received as a 40th birthday present from my parents. My father gave it to me with the box, all of the paperwork, warrantee card, and I know that he bought it from an AD (the AD even told him to tell me to keep all of the extras should I ever want to sell it, which I doubt)... but it doesn't have the hanging sealing-wax tag that I have seen in so many pictures. Is that unusual? Would the AD have taken it off? Also, since I'm new here, what does WIS mean? Thanks all.

You have all the important bits for a new watch, the hang tag is of no real importance, next time you are near a AD ask him for one if you want one.

Not a big deal--if you really want one and AD doesn't have one-go buy one on Ebay.

WIS = Watch Idiot Savant

Found below definition on another forum......this is bad

Definitions of a Watch Idiot Savant

-Self trained to sleep in 5 positions with wearing his/her COSC certified chronometer in bed.
-Opens the back of a new Patek on the first day of acquisition and hand winds the rotor in tighten up the main spring.
-Takes the 200 meter water proof Seadweller off from the wrist and puts it into the deepest pocket before walking into a storm without any rain gear.
-Waits every 60 minute in front of a radio controlled clock all weekend in order to adjust all his/her 14 mechanical watches to the accuracy within -2/+2 seconds per 24 hours.
-Spends $500 plus on polish equipment and materials and works 20 hours in order to refinish a $200 worth SS bracelet.
-Has a annual budget of $500 on the purchase of a new watch and posts the question on the Timezone forum "which one is better? a Rolex or a TAG?"
-Wears a triple date chronograph with moon phase everyday, but cannot even tell time from the basic hour and minute hands on the dial without a pair of reading glasses.
-Memorizes all serial numbers of the Rolex watches made in the past 60 years but keeps forgetting the wedding anniversary.

Well not all things Rolex I hope, just only the important bits like the watches. And the RWC history, the rest just pure internet hype..

Welcome to the forum as I'm pretty new to membership. I have 6 rolexes and they were all purchased new from AD except for the one my dad gave me and I only received a tag for only 3 of them. Maybe I should go back to the AD to get the other 2.

Hey nargus, congratulations and happy birthday. When I got my new Sub they put everything together in the box and I wore it out of the store. When I got home I discovered that there were no tags. I went back a couple weeks later or so and asked for them. They grabbed a COSC tag out of a drawer. I think I was missing the bezel protector too and they grabbed me one of them too. I asked for the green tag with the bar code and serial number on it, and they said they had to keep that one and return it to Rolex. I've wondered about that, since you often see them for sale on line with that tag included.
