Question for all acrylic owners. Do you really have to use sand paper prior to using polywatch on the crystal?

I was also speaking with Cayce and he said that even toothpaste will do the trick to remove scuffs on an acrylic crystal.

You don't have to use sandpaper before using Polywatch. You can use sandpaper if you need to remove deep scratches I suppose. I've heard of the toothpaste thing as well, but have never tried it.

I have a tube of Polywatch from my GMT16750 days if you'd like to have it. Let me know if you want it.

No need Polywatch will remove most scratches unless very deep.If crystal is badly scratched try a bit of tube autosolve metal polish first.Then polywatch to finely polish crystal to look like new.

I've never used sandpaper. Polywatch has always worked fine for me. I have heard of those using toothpaste or brasso with good results.

Try using close-up red toothpaste it contains very fine micro glass particles
for polishing, at the suggestion of an old friend, I tried this with a very fine
piece of cloth and just a little water on a scratch I put on my old 1680 sub
and it removed the scratch just fine. just work slowly and patiently.
