Accommodation Recommendations in USA
Coming to the USA for holiday in March next year. Wondering if any suggestions for the best area to stay in San Diego and hotel recommendations. Also in Santa Fe and Sedona.
Thanks |

In Santa Fe- La Fonda
Right on the plaza, historic hotel, neat place. Try the Plaza Diner...tasty fare!

San Diego is an interesting place for hotels. There are several great little boutique hotels depending on where you want to stay. My favorite hotel is the stunning Hotel Del Coronado. It is on Coronado Island, across the bridge from downtown San Diego. It is also on, IMHO, the nicest strip of beach in all of California. I've stayed there a few times when I've gone back for a visit. Just be aware that it is a century old. Updated of course, but old bones. If you want modern superluxury you're better off at the Loews. I've not stayed there, but relatives did when we lived there.
But nothing can match the location of the Hotel Del. It is also walking distance to everything of interest in Coronado. I still plan to retire to a little cottage on Coronado. All the benefits of walking to everything, quiet, only a couple blocks to the beach, etc., yet only a 5 minute drive to all that San Diego has to offer.

it really depends on what you want to do in San Diego, if you are planning to do alot of beach stuff try staying in Mission beach,Mission Bay area or in Coronado at the Hotel Del Coronado. or some of the places in Old Town San Diego are nice and one of my favorite restaraunts is there, Old Town Mexican Cafe be prepared to wait a little on any night you go and make sure you get some of the fresh made tortilla's.

The Hotel Del Coronado is an awesome hotel. If you want downtown, you may find the urban ambiance of the "W" enjoyable with its downtown loacation

San Diego has many good choices, I also like the Hotel Del Coronado- right on the beach, classic style and decor. It is not inexpensive but worth it IMHO.
Sedona also has good choices. Recently stayed at El Portal Sedona and really enjoyed the service, interesting rooms and location. www.elportalsedona.com |

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Its all been helpful. We are going LA-Vegas-Zion-Monument Valley-Santa Fe-Sedona-San Diego-LA. Looking forward to what should be a great roadtrip covering desert and canyon areas. If I get to meet up with some TRF members along the way then so much the better.
