Parker Jotters

These have been my daily writers for the last 12 years. I was lucky enough to pick up all three BNIB including a pen case for only 100 yen at a town fair in 1998

The Jotters are some of the nicest inexpensive pens. I wish I had everyone of them back that I have lost over the years. They could probably fill a shoe box.

I'm also a big fan and carry the Jotter in all SS. The plastic ones are quite cheap looking though. Cheers,

Yes, I agree about the plastic ones. I just had a look at them today when I went to get a new refill. Not my cup of tea. The SS ones however, are great . I love the brushed look. At first I did find them a little on the slippery side, the feel of the pen that is, but now I'm used to it

What do you guys think about the Parker IM fountain pen as an introductory FP? I haven't used a FP since grade school and would really like an inexpensive one to try out.

Another one! take it from is lefty with awful penmanship, getting a fp is pure delight. Just like I smile whenever I check the time, I smile whenever i have to write something....

I can't give you any advice on the parker though.

I'm just starting out on fountain pens but my humble input is to go for the nib, preferrably a gold nib (avoid the steel nibs). I think if one's hoping to try out fountain pens and starts off with a cheap one then they may be discouraged by the skipping and scratching. Something that happens with FPs from school, but they are a very poor representative of the FP world.

Catch 22 I suppose. Good Luck and Cheers,

I concur. I just picked one up at a big box office supply store on clearance. It was the last one left. My only complaint is the barrel being polished metal is very slippery making difficult to write with when my hands are cold or sweaty.

I trust I won't come across as a snob but I like my fountain pens to have gold nibs.....either 14K or 18K!!!

That's exactly what I found, but I do like the look of them

Don't worry, I know what you mean. AFAIK, the Parker IM is SS.

I'm now looking at a Sailor professional gear slim FP.
