Hi! My wife bought me a used Submariner in 1987. It has been on my wrist every day since. Had a tune up and crystal replaced a few years back by an authorized Rolex dealer. My question is this: on the dial below the 6 marker, there is no print saying "Swiss Made". Could I have a fake? Also, the condition is like new with no scratches or apparent wear. Roughly what is it's value?

Also, 200' precedes 660 on depth line over Submariner... Does that add to value?

Looks like a Meters First Sub. Can you post a better pic of the dial? BTW, it shouldn't read "Swiss Made" It should read "Swiss - T <25"

Pulled the bracelet off. Looks like I bent the pins. Should I replace? On the case at the 12 position the number was 5513. At the 6 position the number was 1103581. Does this help? If this is serious bucks I will sell....

It's a 1 mil serial meters first from 1966 or so, quite common actually. It appears your dial has been redone and unfortunately this affects the value quite a bit. Can you get a better pic of the dial?

The side effect of that recent ebay sale getting so much press is there is going to be someone with 5513/5512 wanting to know if its worth $66k every week for the next few months. Still very nice looking piece there man.

Took many bad pics! Can't capture the dial w/o glare. Will have a friend give it a go soon. I'll throw it up on E-bay for $6,000.00 and see what happens. Thank you so much for the help. Great site BTW! Think I bent pins removing bracelet. Will take to a jeweler tomorrow....

Called the jeweler in New London, Conn. and he will review his records. He assured me the watch was owned by a Sub Commander and never altered.

Is the writing on the dial white or is it slightly golden in colour? Also is the black part of the dial dull or matte or somewhat glossy?

Wow! That's great. What sub was he on? I did 23 years in the Navy, know a lot of sub guys. This is great news!

I was in Groton a few years ago stationed on the tender there, we did a lot of repair work on subs and I got to meet quite a few guys. Let us know!

No way of knowing what sub but I can find out his name. I lived in that area for 17 years! My wife worked for EB.

I was on the Fulton. I was born and raised in Meriden and my dad retired after 40 years from Pratt and Whitney.

Let us know if you get more info on the watch. Hey, keep it, they are going up in value every day, better than money in the bank!

Small world! I lived in Essex. Remember Bob's Surplus in Middletown? Looking at hundreds of pics of Submariners and the lack of printing above the 6 marking is not all that uncommon.

Hahaha...My dad buys all his clothes at Bob's!

wears nothing but t shirts in the summer and sweat shirts in the winter. Yes, it is a small world. It should actually have something printed above the 6 otherwise I believe it's been redone. This greatly reduces the value, but no worries, it looks like a great piece. Get some pics of the dial when you get a chance and post them.
