Tudor Chrono Questions

We have been offered a bnib Tudor Tiger chrono with leather bracelett and a new steel bracelett still in the wrap as an extra. As best as I can tell from looking upn Tudor serial numbers the watch was produced in 1997. It is still in the protective wrap. Two questions: Is it worth $1940? It will be a daily wear watch for my son so is this the right thing to get him for daily wear? Any problems with this model that are known to you but not to me? We can't spend 10K on a Daytona so this seems like the next best option. Thanks

Russ,
No problem with this as a daily wearer. A very robust workhorse. What kind of bracelet, oyster or jubilee?
The price is right as well.
Here's my strap version Tudor chrono.

Watch arrived yesterday for my son's 18th birthday tomorrow. It is simply outstanding. This is the first Tudor in the family and I am very impressed with the "feel" of the watch. My wife and I were choosing between a stainless Rolex Sub and this Tudor Tiger Chrono for our son. Our older son was in favor of the Tudor purchase because of the look of the watch and its under the radar (his words) look when worn among friends. I never knew until this week but the older son took some razzing when he got his Sub at 18 from his schoolmates because it was a Rolex. Who understand kids today anyway? I will let you guys know how my birthdya boy likes the watch. Best to all. Russ

My son loved the watch. I was afraid because it was truly bnib that he would want to put it up and not wear it. He got it out, read the book, set it and put it on. So far he is very pleased and its keeping great time. His friends really like it because none of them had ever seen one. Thanks to everyone for thier help. Russ

Well its been a day short of three weeks and he loves the watch. His brother now wants me to find one for him. I don't believe there are many Tigers left our there bnib for under 2K. If you hear of one you don't want, drop me a line.

Definitely right. Not under 2K and not BNIB. Post some pics and the mandatory wrist shot!
