Sell both

Buy the Daytona then you can always save up and rebuy the other two. That's what I would do. That's what I did.

No way would I give up those two watches for the Daytona. Not a chance. Never.

That incoming black dial AP RO 15300 really shakes things up

I have an incoming AP RO 15300 with a black dial, that makes the black dialed GMT IIc a candidate for departure... the Daytona would be a white dial.

The Santos belonged to my father and I don't wear it much (too small) so I'm trading it with my brother for a gold vintage Baume & Mercier on a strap that I think will get more wrist time (the B&M also belonged to my late father).

Thanks for the comments so far, keep them coming!!
Ahhh,, i totally see your point with wanting a strap alternative. I myself have a Panerai PAM111 on rubber in the rotation which I wear at least 2-3 times a week.

That incoming black dial AP RO 15300 really shakes things up in your collection. You got your leather and rubber strap fix right there in that one watch. The Omega and Breitling are still both expendable (IMO) unless there's a sentimental attachment. If you can swing it, keep the White dial ExpII as a beater.

Collection?: AP RO 15300 (black with leather and rubber straps), Daytona (white w/bracelet), ExpII (white w/bracelet), B&W (gold w/strap).

Trade/Sell: the Omega, Breitling, and GMT IIc.

I think you need a G-Shock in there to round things out. Hah

What would you rather have?

My current pair or a SS Daytona?
even if the dayt and gmt were the same price, i'd pick the gmt every time.

I had EXP II and simply adore GMTC II, so my answer is simple - start saving for Daytona.

No. Do exactly the opposite. Exactly the opposite. GMT IIC trumps EXP II, everytime.

Not to me. I personally do not like or would I ever own a GMT IIc. I much prefer the GMT Pepsi between the two (for me) the Explorer II is the more desirable watch.

It's just a matter of personal preference.

Thanks for the reply, I really want the RO to remain in the ss bracelet though... I really like that bracelet.

Truth is I have not made up my mind, I could sell the GMT IIc keep the Explorer II and pay the difference, but I couldn't do it the other way around.

One minute I want to trade both, the next I don't...

It all boils down to this: I bought both the Explorer II and the GMT IIc because I couldn't afford the Daytona, seems like every other watch I buy is because I can't afford the one I really want!

I can sell the Explorer II for what I paid for it not long ago (bought it pre-loved) and the GMT IIc for 80% of what I paid for it at my AD.

That's why I bought the AP RO 15300, I really really wanted it for a long time so I stopped buying until I saved enough to get it.

Ideally I would do the same and get the Daytona without having to sell anything but I can't keep blowing money like a drunken sailor on watches...

I have a Raymond Weil and a couple of Nauticas for beaters, G-Shocks are not up my alley.

Again, thanks for all the comments.

If you can, just save for a 3rd watch.

If you can't' or think it's going to take too long, sell the GMT 2c, because I guess you'll loose less in depreciation and the Exp is more of a tool than watch than the Daytona and the GMT 2c, because of the brushed bracelet, etc

So in my opinion, if you have to sell one, should be the GMT. But that's a very personal decision...
