Newer Audi A6 - Opinions?

Anyone own one of these? I've lusted after these cars for years but folks keep telling me that they are very unreliable. I looked up the car on JD Power and it won an award for midsize luxury car segent for reliablity. Has Audi turned things around? What do you guys think of the Audi A6?

We had a fleet of 7 x A6 avant S-Line 2008 models in our office for a couple of years. Very reliable and in a different league to Mercedes E-Class for similar money. MPG isnt great on the Quattro. We had v6 Diesels, they drive better than the petrol models, bloody quick. Great workhorses.

I do not own any cars myself, but my parents have been driving Audi for several years now. They currently have a '98 and an '07 Audi A6 and we haven't had any problems with the later one until just now. Mind you, we have taken it around Europe three times on summer trips. This winter was really cold and that could be the reason the engine started to sound weird. It can become costy but other than that thing, we haven't had a single problem!

I say buy it if you can

Oh, by the way. While the A6 is at the workshop, we're driving a brand new Audi A4 2.0TDI Quattro. VERY fun car to drive!

Can't wait to try out the new A7 though. Love the looks

Isn't it enough with one if it's the best car you have?

I have an Audi S4 V8 quattro I would get that over an A6. The A6 to me is too mich like a BMW 328i.

I have a 2001 A4 Quattro with almost 150k miles and very happy with it.
I have 2005 TT Quattro as well. A5 or A6 will be on list next.

My A4 was THE most reliable vehicle that I have ever owned. Put 220K on the odometer. No problems but like all the German cars...servicings are expensive.

If I had the $$ I'd get the A5...love Audis!

Yea deff wait for this one. The A7 and A6 are on the same platform
Huge car guy here and like Rolex owners, Audi owners are tight. I currently own a Audi S5 and am a member of a5oc.com(an audi a5/s5 owners forum). There is also audizine.com which is a general audi forum. You might want to check out audizine for more info on the A6. You can probably get a good deal on a 2011 A6 since the 2012 model is coming out soon.

Keep us updated!!!

I have an Audi TT Convertible. Great car.

Depending on what you are looking for in terms of your requirements I suspect Audi can meet your expectations.

I had an A4 a few years ago and I loved the car. I never had any problems at all with reliability. My sister and her husband have had an A6 for the past couple of years and they love it. No problems yet.

In my opinion Audi is making some of the best looking cars on the market especially in that price range.
