Bluesy...

Afternoon all from not so sunny England!

Well, I've been out of the Rolex loop for too long (4 months!) due to selling my collection last year as moved home.. I'm itching again, after wearing a 45.5mm Omega PO which I've got on my wrist as we speak...It doesn't sing to me!

I'm tempted by a BNIB 2007 16613 Blue, which I've found and love the look of. Had one back in 2007 myself but it was stolen in a house robbery..

Lets see your blue pics!

Dan,
Slightly off topic, I think I might have bought your 16710, if you're the guy who lived in Frogmore?

Its running very well you'll be pleased to hear.

Regards,

Gabriel

Hi Gabriel!

Indeed, small world! And if you'd like to sell that back, I'd happily take it - I miss it so much!! Well, needs must at the time, but my first Rolex, and I should have kept it.

Glad to hear it's keeping great time and you're enjoying it! I'll pop a post in the sellers who's who section..

Warm regards,

I tried a 116613 LB on my wrist a few weeks ago, gorgeous, prefer the new ceramic, only because its got a better bracelet. Nothing wrong with the old 16613 though.

I prefer the ceramic in terms of heavier, far better bracelet and clasp etc. The one thing I do like more about the 16613 is the blue colour.. If I had the choice of both for the same money, then I'd opt for ceramic, but for £2K less.....

Nice looking Sub.... wanting to get one of these myself at some point. Like the looks of the newer sub braclets though. But will take the old style as is.

Hello Dan:
Here is my Bluesy!

By the way, I had always been an admirer of this variant of the classic Submariner, considering its cobalt blue dial unique among watches of Rolex or any other brands. I love it!

After viewing so many times this watch worn by JJ, on his handsome silver haired wrist, I finally decided to take the plunge, and bought my own at beginning 2010.

Of course, it never looks as elegant on my wrist as on JJ´s, but I love it anyway!

It always reminds me of JJ, and I wish his health is restored to get him back to TRF soon.
I always thing of my Bluesy, as "JJ´s Watch", every time I wear on my wrist, or admire it on my hand!! And always will be JJ´s Watch for me.

Best cordial regards, Abel.

Thanks, Abel. I'm a pretty lousy watch photographer, but got lucky and got the LEC on two out of about 100 shots The blue color on the old 16613 makes this one of the prettiest dials I've seen on any watch IMO.

Dan, congratulations on your return to the brand. Glad we could help (re: enable). Looking forward to pictures of your new addition when you pick it up. Thursday really isn't that far away.......
