Tudor vs rolex?

So I've never really understood the relationship between these two. Are they both owned by rolex? I believe Tudor is not available in the U.S but in the rest of the world is it available? Are the movements shared or not? Are the tudor movements in house? Any other information? Thanks

Rolex owns Tudor. The Tudor movements are ETA, to the best of my knowledge. I can't tell just how high the quality of the rest of the watch is compared to Rolex. Some of them are real beauties, though. In particular, some of the chrono versions look like Daytonas at Omega prices.

Rolex is the parent company and Tudor is located at the same facility in Geneva, Switzerland.

At one time they shared cases and bracelets; never movements.. Today, they are separate lines with their own models, styles, and movements....

VW vs Audi? Although the ownership is the other way round.

Slightly different IMO. In the car case, they use the same engine "most" times. Abit different to Rolex in-house and ETA movement....

As a matter of fact, yes.

Think Rolex AND Tudor, not Rolex vs Tudor. The brands compliment each other just as Hans Wilsdorf intended.
A google search would reveal all........and them some.

The Tudor line of Submariners (discontinued now) aren't too shabby either

Heres my Lollipop handed Sub from '84/85
