Is there something on your first Rolex
that makes you want more of them? It sure feels that way.
Milgauss, Explorer, Sea Dweller, and the non-date Subs are all calling to me now, as well as needing a birth-year Rolex. Confess. What does Rolex put on these to make us want more? |

The more I see the white faced Explorer II the more I want it... The more I see a white faced Daytona the more I want it... None of it is need... it's just desire... I may go Explorer II... it's so under loved and such a lovely little watch (that takes a good beating on.) Then again the THC... Tudor has kinda got me looking even though it's not a collection piece to me with the booboo movement... anyway - lots of wants... lots.

The look, feel, quality, history, and workmanship. Whatever it is just combine that with TRF and all the pictures of great looking watches, the stories, and Boom.
You have been infected.

My first Rolex (SS Sub-C LN) reflects everything that I learnt about Rolex at TRF, but most of all, it feels exactly like the "mother of all diver's watches". I've had and handled quite a few quality time pieces before, but the quality that oozes from the Sub-C still blows me away, everytime I put it on my wrist. And quite frankly, I'd be happy to own those qualities in a form of another Rolex, e.g. a more dressier piece. That's why I'm playing with the idea of picking up a SS/WG DJ II, or a TT GMT IIC, or a hypothetical Sub-C NoDate.

I think that there is something.
I would never have thought that I would have ever become so interested in watches before I bought my GMTII. |

My first "real" watch was a Rolex, but that was 25 years ago and I have been happy with it since.
Since I have a significant birthday coming up I decided it was time to change up the watch a bit - bigger face, new style etc. I had decided against a Rolex since I wanted a change. Looked seriously at Breitling and Cartiers. Was all set to get a Cartier but after an indepth discussion with the salesperson at Wempe I went back to a rolex. I am a low manienance jewelry person and I want a watch I can wear 24/7/365 - and it seems that Rolexes with the screw in crown are my best bet for baths/showers etc. So, have it narrowed down to 2 Rolexes, both very different than my current. Will make a decision as soon as they get them in and I an try them both on. |

I love how my sub c shines.
yesterday at target i saw this lady with a SUB C HULK and it looked great! (jealous that she had no scruffs on her bracelet, mine has some minimal.. cant wait for it to get buffed!) NEXT UP.. GMT PEPSI! I just love how it looks. |

I don't know what they put on them, but I know a lot of companies would kill for this 'secret ingredient'. :-)
