omega clasp too tight

I purchased a speedy bracelet from ebay for my speedy pro 3570.50. Paid a pretty penny for it too. The bracelet is the older style 1498 with 840 end links.

I am trying to figure out whether it is genuine or whether I got suckered into a fake.

Reason why I feel something is not right is the clasp. The clasp is very stiff. It actually hurts my thumb trying to open the clasp, and it hurts my wrist when trying to lock it in. It is bloody tight!

Are the omega clasps meant to be this bloody tight?

Not sure which clasp this is. Mine has the twin release buttons - yours sounds different?

Post some pix?

This is the older style bracelet that tapers to 16mm and has the fold over clasp.
Excuse the bad photos, camera phone with poor lighting.

The clasp is so stiff. Takes a big effort to open and close the clasp. The skin on my thumb is peeling :(

Just want to know if any one else has the same fold over clasp and is theirs just as tight. Would also love to verify the authenticity of the bracelet as well.

Mine has the later model clasp.

IMO it probably just needs adjusting.

The clasp is out of alignment?

Hey Jim,

From the look of the end links it looks ok. Basically it is just a matter of adjusting the clasp catch until you get the right tension.

What you need to do is bend the upright catch with some plies but ensure you have the jaws well insulated so you don't mark the catch. The adjustment is a very fine adjustment so don't get to heavy handed.

Cheers

Thanks Aaron
I am afraid I will end up snapping it when I try to adjust it :(
