The Wrist Shot Fist

What is the significance of the fisted hand in so many wrist shots?

We are hiding our less than brilliantly manicured fingernails.

The fist....it's solidarity w/ fellow Rolex owners......or else it's because we are hombres muy machos, y muy fuerte!

I don't want anyone to see my hairy palms. It's really embarassing.

Maybe it's easier to hold your hand still for the pic if you're making a fist. Just a guess.

After shooting shots with various hand gestures, I decided that the fist was the most manly and offered the least distraction from the watch.

I do like the solidarity explanations, though.

Wimpy.

Manly!

If the watch is on top of the wrist, a fist is the natural hand position. Go try it now.

If the watch is below the wrist (and the bracelet clasp is on top of the wrist) you will make a half fist wit the hand pointing away from the body.

Isn't it the natural way to hold your hand when you look at your watch?

When you check the time do you have your hand splayed open like you're palming a basketball or grabbing a coconut?

Think back to when you were a kid. Remember that you were told that if you did a certain thing then hair would grow on your palm. Well most guys did not listen and now have hairy palms.
