Buying a second Datejust...I need help please.
I'm considering purchasing another datejust. Here it is at Capetown Diamond http://www.capetownstore.com/Merchan...t_Code=CT17517
I'm confused because I have never seen a datejust with the small roman numerals especially one with the numerals in the proper position. It's an original Rolex dial not part of Capetown's Geneva Collection. Any insight on this will be greatly appreciated. Thanks - Randy |

That is a 30 year old watch, so I would find it very hard to believe that it is "mint, like new"..
Considering that most of the rest of their description and dialog is liberally inflated/incorrect you may want to see it before buying..

My 16014 stainless datejust from 1982 I purchased from them was described as mint in box with all paperwork, etc.. Honestly the watch was as described. Even the AD here said it looked as if it was worn once and then put away in the box and forgotten about.

I've seen the dials before, but I'm not expert enough to tell you what year, etc. they were used. That's a nice model you're looking at.
I look at this site quite often but have not bought here. They are pretty clear about non-Rolex parts, if you read their details. Let us know how your transaction goes. |

I called CDC to inquire about this watch. I was put on hold for a few minutes and the lady informed me that she needed to find it. She called me back within the hour to inform me that it has been sold and the web site is in need of updating. Oh well!

It's hard to fathom purchasing with a dealer whose copy is so strange and even hostile in tone. Not to mention "Here is the look of the Rolex "Datejust" at such a deal" and description of the case as 37mm.
To each his/her own, but I would run. |

Randy - It's great that you've purchased from them previously and have good history. That photo is a little too generic, you should ask them to send you some very good close-up shots of the face/back and bracelet.
