For what it's worth, Rolex lists the power reserve as "72-hour Power reserve (66 hours if the stopwatch is in use)". Clearly they see the stopwatch in continual use as a possibility.

I tend to leave it running all the time. I love to see the seconds hand sweep.
As long as its serviced regularly I dont see why it should wear out quicker. Its a Rolex after all and its going to outlive me by a long way !! ![]() |

Definitely use it regularly during the season - timing enduro's, minimum pit-stop times, post-race impound periods, 5-minute warnings and post-race protest period.
AFAIK, it is not intended for continuous use. Once after a race I forgot to push the stop button and the next day it had lost more than 2 minutes. Of course I don't know if the power reserve had been fully wound - but running for 24 hours straight (while off my wrist) appeared to have some impact on chrono accuracy. |
