Icon6 Rolex Shops Toronto?

Good Evening All!

I'm going to Toronto this weekend, and I'm looking for an Rolex Authentic Shop. This is going to be embarrassing but, I've honestly never seen a Rolex up close. I've seen pictures and in real life people wearing them. But never up close. I know there is a Rolex Sales & Service shop on St Clair. They aren't open on the weekends. Could someone suggest some shops in the Toronto & GTA Region?

Thanks.

Nothing to be embarassed about at all.

The RSC on St.Clair won't have any Rolexes for sale. They are where you go for servicing.

I think there are four ADs in the Toronto area. The one downtown is Royal de Versailles on Bloor just west of Bay (south side).

If you are buying then I'd recommend Damiani but it's up in Vaughan.

I can't tell you much about Humbertown(?) or La Difference, but neither are downtown.

Hi Adam, you can try Damiani Jewellers, Royale de Versailles and Humbertown Jewellers. All three are authorized Rolex dealers. You can look up locations on the net as they should all have web sites. I have bought from both Damiani and Humbertown and can recommend. Damiani is a great spot but the other two have a broader selection of brands. If you are looking for second hand, I would try Van Rijk.

Best of luck,

Sanj

I know of two places.

Van Ryk - has a large selection but they are massively over price and they will treat you like garbage.

and watchfinder.ca

They have two locations - one just off of bay and bloor, and another smaller one near the eaton centre.

I'me sure there are other "pawn shop" like places but nothing I've ever been too.

Hope that helps!

Thanks guys! I'm going to Royale De Versailles this Saturday. I'm going to drop my mother off at Winners and my father and I can go Rolex Browsing. Nothing better than some quality father and son time, looking at gorgeous watches! Do you think that they'd let me look at a Submariner? My dad is looking for a Rolex GMT Master II Two Tone.

@ SPARTAN2161

For pre-owned, I would buy off TRF.

There doesn't seem to be a well known pre-owned market in TO. I have visited Van Rijk, and although they treated me reasonably well, I've read several comments that they are rude (not my experience). Howvever I will tell you that their prices are very high, and they didn't seem willing to budge even knowing that I'd walk out the door (which I did).

As for your other post, I recall someone questioning why you'd buy in Canada with exchange rates at this time (hovering around par). Canadian MSRPs are roughly 9-10% higher than US (for some unknown reason). Although one can get a decent discount (20%-25%) in Toronto, I understand that discounts of 10%-15% are achievable in the US. This keeps you even. Not sure if you still have to pay our 13% HST on top, or duty on the way home, but if so that will set you back.

Where abouts in TO are you visiting?

I wasn't aware of a watchfinder.ca near Bay and Bloor - I'll have to check it out soon too. (that's pretty close to Royal de Versailles). I have been to the small watchfinder shop near the Eaton Centre and they had very little selection (maybe 5 Rolexes).

I'm sure they'll let you try on those watches. If you end up buying, then make sure to get a decent discount - they will likely be reluctant at first because many people will pay full price. If you're both buying then push harder.

Ill be staying at the Strathcona? Visiting some college buddies and id prolly just "wear" the watch home... shhh lol I realize its around par but i thought maybe i could get a couple hundred less there than home. Buffalo is terrible. Who ever owns a Rolex keeps their rolex so the pre owned market is minimal at best and i wont be in NYC till summer. I was thinking a bigger city would have more pre-owned

p.s. anything you i should see while im there?

Hockey Hall of Fame is near your hotel.
Catch a hockey or basketball game.
If you're into art then the Art Gallery of Ontario.
CN Tower can be cool, but only if it's a clear day (glass floor is wild).
Royal Ontario Museum comes to mind because I'm taking my son to see the dinosaurs (and it's up near RDV and watchfinder)
I won't mention the Angelina Ballerina play my wife and daughter are going to.
A lot of live theatre and/or symphony.

Alright great. The only reason that I don't think that they'd let me try one on, is because I'm 15?

Adam, no offense but at age 15 how do you have the funds for a rolex? I wish i did when i was your age. It took me a whole summer of busting my hump to by my first for my birthday when i turned 21.

DONT GO TO DAMIANA!! Lots of watches, but very, very poor customer service!

I never had issues at van ryk at yonge and eglington...always seemed nice and willing to let me try watches on

A difference of opinion I guess. I dealt with both Olin Damiani, and Cladio (the manager) and they were both great.

The person I dealt with at RDV was bad (but the manager made things right). I'd still give them a second chance.

Haha I don't have the funds to afford a Rolex. My father wants to show me the quality of a real Rolex Submariner, compared to my Invicta 8926. My father is also looking for a GMT Master II (Two Tone). He'd love to buy one. I wish I had the money to buy a Rolex. It's time to save some money!

I posted a rant on damiana a couple months ago I believe...check it out
http://rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=159451

just didnt have a good time there, and to me, first impressions mean alot when your looking to drop a pretty penny on a watch. thus, I will never do business with them and will soon be picking up my future YM2 from a more professional dealer of the fine watches we call Rolex

Adam, Good luck on saving! You should inform your Dad about the forum, if he already doesnt know, and show him the classified section. You can pick up a lot of awesome watches there from the TRUSTED TRF sellers and at a highly discounted price.
