Canadian F1 GP....Huge Crash

A huge crash at the Canadian F1 race today in Montreal(my hometown BTW).
Robert Kubica crashes in the back of another car at 300 km/h. I had attended that race for over 20 years and that straightaway and hairpin has resulted in many very spectacular crashes over the years.

These cars are the most amazing pieces of engineering. He was basically unijured....might have a headache though
The video is in German...and I find it interesting that there is no German word for safety car......

I watched most of the race today. It was quite "eventful".
I hear this fellow only broke a leg. The first part of the crash , where he tags the first wall at 300+kph is missing from this video.
Hats off to Mr Lewis Hamilton for a fine drive today.

Apparently no broken leg according to the F1 website. No injuries at all...except bruising. Wow.

Lewis Hamilton has a bright future

I recorded the race and I'll get round to watching it later. By all the accounts the race was a dog's breakfast from go to whoa, and the real beneficiary of the mess was Alex Wurz, who really had Buckley's chance of making it to the podium otherwise.

I did see the first lap, though - Gad only knows what Alonso was thinging with that Turn One stunt - there was never any way he could have made the corner. I've been a fan of the guy since 2004, but it looks like young Lewis has rattled his cage some.

I have been going to that race since 1987-2004. That first corner is always exciting on the start.....Alonso proved it again.
Hamilton has made F1 interesting again and he has certainly shown the veterans that a rookie can be fast.....and it ain't just the car.
