Going green...
I can't stop staring at pictures of those green dial/green bezel Submariners. The color is just breathtaking! Are they just as stunning in person? The reason I ask is because I was looking at those new Bulova Precisionists. They look awesome on TV. They look awesome in pictures. But I saw one in person for the first time in the mall last night, and they looked cheap to me (apologies for anyone here who owns one).
So, is it easy going "green"?

for me - YES. thats because i love green colour.
the 116610LV is quite striking in my eyes. it may take a little while to get used to the whole green thing. the beauty of the green gold dial is that it can change shades just by moving the watch from side to side. |

I think the new Sub C LV is amazing in person. I have never seen a picture that truly captures the nature of that dial. It looks different in every light. Definitely check it out in person.

This quote from another watch page (not my quote) (I'm sorry I don't know who originally wrote this) gives one of the best written descriptions that I have seen yet re: the new LV
"Most of the pics of the LV C tend to show it as overall a much greener experience than it is in practise. Most of the critisism of this model, seems to focus on it being too green. Compared with the previous LV with the black face. It has been perceived that the new model is too green to be worn every day. What I am noticing is that the remarkable and IMO hugely interesting way in which the greengold dial handles light, in most light conditions and at most angles of view when worn. The dial rarely looks very green. In fact I am starting to think that the use of greengold is cleaverer than I thought. It has massively variable greeness changing from very green and almost black at the extreme ends (Angle and light) to a tinge of green most of the time. At the same time never clashing with the bezel. This is a much more interesting watch, than I ever expected it to be." |
