2nd owner
I am thinking of purchasing a GMT from Leopardprey.
My question is, If I am a 2nd owner of the watch and want to have it polished or serviced, do I take to an AD or send it to a RSC (if so where to send in the U.S). How much do they charge for this? Will it be a problem with me being the 2nd owner? Thanks for the help |

You shouldn't have a single problem.
Once the watch is purchased by another owner the warranty is voided, but that doesn't matter at all if the watch is already out of warranty, and even if it were, such a small proportion of Rollies have warranty issues that you're pretty safe either way. Rolex will probably want to establish new provenance for you the first time you do send the watch in for service, which you can do by mailing directly to an RSC or by taking it in to an AD, so maybe asking Chad to send you a small Bill of Sale accompanying the watch isn't a bad idea, but I know most folks don't have that and it's no problem when it comes service time...Rolex will just update everything under your name. Rolex service will vary in cost depending on the extent of the work, but I imagine it could be as little as a couple hundred dollars or as much as thousands for a full overhaul. No need to worry there, either, as Chad takes great care of his watches. Usually the prices don't get WAY high until you get into the re-dial, new hands, new bracelets, etc... You can't go wrong buying from Chad...a top notch guy and a VERY well respected member of this forum...well....as well-respected as any of us clowns on this forum can be! |

Either one.
They don't care if you're the first, or the thousandth owner; same price, same service. expect to spend about 500USD as a base. There's a place to go from CA to NY. |

I'll go out on a limb and say Leopardprey is a higly regarded member of TRF. I would completely trust him as a seller.
The watch should be sent to the RSC closest to you IF service is needed. Cost for clean /oil should run about $500.00 excluding extra parts. As long as the GMT is all original you will have no problem as 2nd owner. The GMT is a great watch. Good luck, dP

The above is spot on!
There are three RSCs in the states--New York, Dallas, Beverly Hills. I've used all three. All are good, but if given a choice--BH. |

Well, thanks for above references. Appreciate it.
Robb, if you buy my GMT II and within the 2 year warranty anything goes wrong with it, you can send it into Rolex and use my name. That will cover it. I will vouch for it if they contact me. I will jsut state you are sending it in for me, as I am overseas. Should not be a problem. Hec, they just look at the warranty paper usually, never check the ID of the person sending it in. After 2 year warranty as stated above, does not matter, you send it into the RSC and they charge you for any services. Does not matter who ownes the watch. It is a great watch. Cheers, Chad |
