Nato Sizing

Might be a very basic question, but what size nato strap would fit a 2000 Sub Date? 20 or 22 seems about right. I know I should know the specs and numbers for this watch after being on this forum for a year or so, but I don't.

I recently made the mistake of buying a 22mm NATO for my SD. It won't fit. 20mm is the way to go.

Thanks for the quick answers. I really enjoy the fact that someone who is not a WIS can ask basic questions on this forum without getting slammed.

That is very true. Even the idiotic "is it safe to........" questions are mostly met with friendly humor. This is a great place to "hang out" and learn without being ridiculed.

A lot of Rolex/Tudor sport watches have a 20mm lug width.

Well although the Subs plus most Rolex models are 20mm,its quite easy to measure the distance between the lugs with a simple tape measure or ruler.

Personally i prefer timefactors NATO's over maratac ones. Maratec feel more like hard plastic compared to softer timefactors.

James Bond had a 18mm NATO. Look at the pictures you can see it was too small. Should have been 20mm.

With the exception of some vintage Datejust models at 19mm lug distance, 20mm is the way to go on (almost) all Rolex models.
