Is it possible to love one watch, and one watch only?

I thought I'd found true love with my Explorer II, but after eight months, I've started eyeing up new models! Am I normal??

Unfortunately, Hammer, you are all too normal. Those of us who have an absolute favorite watch will often have more than one.

My wife is a beautiful brunette. Do you think that stops me from looking at blondes?

That's a good Analogy, comparing watches to women I reckon.

They can be expensive
If they're good looking, your friends will be envious
If you have a good one, you never really appreciate it 'til it's gone!

I'm reminded of a famous quote by Homer J. Simpson... just switch the word 'woman' for watch...

Bart, a woman is like beer. They look good, they smell good, and you'd step over your own mother just to get one!

Yes....but

It doesn't mean you can't window shop or look to the future. My latest justification is that I have 3 Sons and I would like to leave a Rolex to each of them, so it's my goal to develop my collection to cater to this. Is it crazy, I don't know. I would have liked a Rolex as an inheritance.

Asking if you are normal for wanting more than one watch on a watch forum isn't going to get you any rational answers..........but I doubt you were after one anyway.

Me too, Pete, but I ended up buying my Father a watch! Still, they say it's better to give than to receive.

Okay, hold on to your socks boys and girls....I think that it is VERY normal to love one watch. What we do here is what is not normal. Most people are happy owning a "dream" watch, and go to the grave smiling. Those people probably have some other hobby that they throw money into and obsess about. We just happen to do it with watches.

We have covered this before, but I have no other hobbies to speak of, really. I mean my other passion is my job, golf. So all of that is free, equipment, etc.....Yes being a PGA member has great perks, teeing it up free almost anywhere in the world does not suck.

So I spend my "fun" money on my wife and son for and what is left over supports this habit.
