Wempe Jewellers in NYC
Evening, gals and guys,
I have gathered from a previous thread that Wempe is one of the nicest ADs in NY to buy a Rolex from. Has anyone had any experience with them in negotiating discounts? I intend to pay cash and would like to know what my chances are before contacting them or showing up at the store (planning to buy either a SS black Sub C or a DSSD). As I am from abroad, my time frame for negotiation will only be the period I'll be in NY (4 days), and I'll be sightseeing as well so really needed to go in the store with the cash and come out with the watch - don't really want to spend too much time negotiating - as much as buying the watch is important for me, getting to know the city is as well. I am also open to other suggestions of ADs, although it seems that customer service in Wempe is better than Torneau (are there other ADs in the area? The dealer locator on Rolex website only allows me to search in Brazil ) As usual, your help is much appreciated! |

Well, I'm not too familiar with ADs in NY. But on the Rolex website when searching for an AD just put a random zip code from NYC and see all the AD that pop up. Other then that I can be much of an assistance. But good luck!

Herbert good point... William Bartham is near my office in the city, Connie is the person Kaue should see if he decides to go there, the selection there is not as extensive, however, they are knowledgeable... Once again the discounts to be had will be very slim! There is also Tourneau where I believe Rolex has clamped down on them offering anything in terms of savings off retail.

Ads in New Jersey would be ok too! Do you think I could have better luck there?

Wempe will give better discounts than Tourneau. Can't say for a Sub, but they were willing to discount 12% off a two-tone Datejust. ADs in NJ would be generally better, but you need to pick the smaller non-chain stores to get the best discount.

Depending on the model they will give a discount. Just be nice, professional and negotiate. I rarely buy from retailers but I only buy from them in the city as they have excellent customer service.

Wempe is great, although a bit stingy on the discounts. It depends on the brand though. |

Kaue: NY is a great place to be/party/indulge. Tough place to get a good deal, even for cash. PM sent with some suggestions/alternatives. Good luck!

I recently purchased my DJ II from Connie at William Barthman and had a favorable experience. They will take care of you.
Also at Wempe there is a fine salesman named Jules who is a pleasure to deal with. I am unsure of what discounts they offer but you will be treated well. Best of luck |
