Woild be nice to have the option of a limited edition Rolex on occasion but I would only be interested in obtaining one if I really liked it and if it meant something to me personally to own one. If for no ther reason it would make for some interesting posts and for some interesting after market sales and long term values (which could go up or down).

Other major brands have ruined the concept of limited editions imo, and hopefully Rolex will not follow suit.

Why limited? I think these limited watches are overhyped and total BS.
Rolex to the people man...Rolex to the people.

I voted no
If you are successful at something it's not to smart to do a major change like that.
Rolex Does have very few limited models here and there but I wouldn't like over doing it.

Some people just don't know class ... LOL

It is definately a 70's design, but it is kinda cool to wear, and you never have to worry about running into someone wearing your watch.

I don't thinks that's a good idea personally.

Rolex will never stoop to that level. Rolex wants the public to view all of their watches as equals, that's why they don't issue COSC certificates. If the public could order a COSC certificate, everybody could see that Rolex's run at different rates, and that would lead some to believe that some were "better" than others. If they had Limited Editions some people would think that "some were better or more special than others".

Wasn't there a "Coca Cola" rolex released at some point? where it actually had the logo printed on the dial?

I consider these types of "LE" pieces to be fairly gimmicky. Unless there is something truly unique about each piece, I don't see why I should care. A different caseback engraving isn't going to do it for me.

There are like 100 different "LE" Speedy Pros. Some of them are really interesting though; some are not.

I would dearly love for Rolex to do a DLC-coated Sub. I would grab it in a heartbeat.

Oh I know it is a really unique piece. Definitely the 70s vibe. I was born in the 70s but really have no recollection of the fabulous style we were all sporting in that era!
