spring summer strap

any of you guys swapping your straps for the string/summer? I would like a lighter coloured strap than the black gator I have now,I've tried some non pam straps and up to now I prefer Panerai oem straps,I was thinking about either a golden gator or a gold JV,the thing is with the JV I'm not sure how it ages? anyone had one for a while? some leathers can look slightly slimy when they age,I'm thinking the JV might as it has a matt finish? any pics would be good and suggestions.

Check out the OEM Tan Vintage Calf. I've got the brown one but I think a lighter one would look killer for the warmer weather season. Give it a shot, it's soft and comfortable.

Just for your info, check out Ted Su's dive strap. I'm heading to Hawaii for a few weeks and will wear it for diving/snorkling/swimming...GShock for surfing.

Enjoy the search.

I just bought a NATO to alternate with the OEM rubber for the summer, not a big fan of leather in the warm weather.

I saw just wear anyone, unless you are going to be sweating up a storm.

If not, any rubber is good, canvas, dive straps, natoes, etc.

thanks for the suggestions,am not too keen on the Pam vintiage straps I have a brown one that I don't use,.

I'm in the UK so sweating in the summer months is not very likely,I was more looking for a lighter colour,think I might just go for the JV gold.

is the JV slightly padded the same way as the Pam gator straps are? I don't like totally flat straps.

summer = metal bracelet
winter = leather strap

your leather strap will get all sweaty and wet in the summer from sweat and might start to smell

Pam on a bracelet is not for me,like I say a UK summer is not the same as a NY summer so the change is only to brighten things up a bit rather than to be more comfy.

i'm the opposite.... i tend to wear my Panerai more often in summer due to the leather... it breathes better than a bracelet.

i like the bracelet for winter months.

JV is definitely padded.

Numbers are in mm

Here it is pretty new...

Here it is pretty patina'ed, but will go darker eventually...

If you can, go to an AD or Boutique to pick your JV. Not all are created equal. If you are spending $350, pick a pattern you like. I got mine in Florence.

I won't be able to do that,No Pam Boutiques in the UK and I don't think ADs have the JVs in stock,I know my AD didn't have any, so I will have to order one,guess it will be a case of fingers crossed.

Request the local AD to order the JV Strap. It will look great. However it will darken with age and use. That's why I like leather straps. You might also check out Ted Su who has some great straps in all colors.

I switch straps pretty often so there's no sweat problems. Two from Simona arrived this morning.

This is an older nubuck that lools like a Horween Chromexcel after a few wears:

Wow! I saw this on their website - recall it was rather expensive. I also have a white strap made of kangaroo leather...
