Newbie on Pam.

Hi everyone, I like Pams, however, not a fan of straps. I know that's weird, however, I decided if I am going to buy a Pam it will be either the 297 or 347 due to limited models with bracelets.

Any suggestions or ideas? Thanks in advance!

John

I'm sure we can find you a nice compliment to that YMII!

Off the top of my head, I'd say, if you like the 1950 case, look into the 328 (312 on a bracelet) or 329 (like the 328, but with GMT function), otherwise, consider the 297 (Luminor GMT in steel) or 161 (Luminor GMT in titanium).

Good luck!

John, early welcome to the Dark side
My humble opinion is that straps and strapmania is half the fun of owning a Panerai.
Anyways if you want to buy a model with bracelet make sure that you can use it also with strap.
From the 2 models you mentioned i like more the 347 but still the power reserve in the face makes it pretty busy. Since 347 is a 320 with power reserve you can ask if you can add a bracelet later on to the 320.

And of course when you buy it we 're expecting a lot of your wonderful pics

Thanks to both for the advice! I will be visiting a PAM AD with the master enabler Dalip this Thursday. I hope they have all of these in stock so I can feel and play with. The choices I originally made were due to a catalogue and sometimes that is not the right way to do this.

Wish me luck!

Excellent another darkside convert. I agree that part of the Panerai thing is getting into straps and that whole thing. But if your not ready for that get it on a bracelet and maybe later you'll embrace the strap stuff, whatever suits your needs.

The first Pam that caught my eye was the 88, so out of the 2 you mentioned I like the 297 more because of the GMT and the skeleton hands.

Good luck with your hunt, take your time and get a good one. As always look forward to the daily wrist PICs.

Thanks mate!! The hunt is the hardest part.. The worst part would be deciding what to wear in the morning!

not sure on prices or what funds you have for the watch but if you prefer a non bracelet Pam,you could always buy the bracelet separately, the bracelets are not cheap if you were to go for a Pam bracelet but it could get you the watch you really want and might also save you a few $$$.

John, I actually think the hunt is just a part of the fun. As far as chosing what to wear, there are a couple of times I have said "what do I wear" and I get confused. But then all I have to say "No matter what I chose I can't really can't go wrong".

John, welcome! As many have already mentioned, collecting straps is half the fun.....and addicting!

Good luck in the hunt!
